Digital Broadcasting Solutions Manager
We are looking for a Digital Broadcasting Solutions Manager to manage non-linear broadcast and digital production workflows and platforms and deliver next-generation services and solutions.
OVERVIEW
You will be heading up a team of solutions leaders, and outsourcing development work to in-house IT and TV broadcast engineering teams, and also external service providers. 

Reporting to the Senior Digital Broadcasting Manager, the Digital Broadcasting Solutions Manager will be responsible for the technical integration of the various services and solutions, ensuring they meet the required quality standards. 

The position requires excellent IT and broadcast know-how, digital media knowledge and a proven track record in project and programme management.

THE ROLE
Key responsibilities:
  • Delivering next-generation digital broadcasting services and solutions that meet the needs of UEFA and its broadcasters and sponsors, including live streaming solutions, mobile applications, second-screen solutions and content delivery platforms
  • Delivering digital broadcasting solutions for EURO 2020, including software, hardware, inter-connectivity, and contribution and distribution workflows and processes
  • Managing a team of solutions leaders
  • Developing comprehensive business requirements and project plans and gathering detailed, reliable cost estimates from internal and external partners
  • Carefully monitoring and reporting on partners’ development work
  • Managing professional project acceptance and risk assessment
  • Setting up the solution implementation process and providing the necessary information to design successful operations
  • Ensuring the smooth delivery of services and solutions to the operations teams and providing level-two technical support
  • Analysing digital broadcast operations with the operations managers and running maintenance solutions accordingly
  • Ensuring all technical material is well-maintained and up to standard
  • Managing day-to-day evolutionary maintenance activities
  • Liaising with third-party technology partners on a day-to-day basis and agreeing on service level objectives and agreements
  • Providing project and knowledge management for digital media and broadcasting activities
  • Working with colleagues in-house to secure the necessary budgets and negotiating directly with suppliers.

ABOUT YOU
Key Experience required:
  • At least 7 years' experience of working in an IT, digital media and broadcast environment delivering solutions that include video production workflows and video publication and distribution applications and processes
  • At least 4 years' experience of team management, with a strong programme management focus and technical deliveries
  • At least 4 years' experience of working in a large sports or digital organisation that delivers a wide spectrum of services.

  • Web application development skills/ Advanced
  • IT database modelling skills/ Advanced 
  • Network and infrastructure (satellite, terrestrial, IP, TCP, routing, clustering, load-balancing) / Advanced 
  • Video encoding / Advanced 
  • IT security / Intermediate
  • Knowledge of EVS or equivalent (e.g. IPDirector, XT, XT Access) / Intermediate
  • Knowledge of Apple and Google mobile development environments and store publication
  • Languages: - English / Proficient.

Education:
  • IT or Broadcast Engineering Degree 
  • Project management certification.
