Senior Manager, Studio Resources & Planning
Our Senior Manager, Studio Resources & Planning is a brand new role at the heart of Sky Production Studios’ department, leading a team to deliver a formidable service to our internal and external clients.

Sky Production Services provide production services for all of Sky’s Content Creation teams - Sport, News & Entertainment. 

The department is made up of three main areas; Content Services, Studios and Post Production. 

These areas encompass all of the operational crafts and disciplines associated with programme making such as cameras, make-up, lighting, scenery, editing, ingest and media management to mention just a few disciplines.


The role of Senior Manager, Studio Resources & Planning is a brand new role at the heart of the Studios’ department leading a team in the delivery of excellent service to our mainly internal clients. 

This role has overall responsibility for the effective rostering of 15 Studio floors, 10 galleries and around 300 staff crew plus a large freelance population across our Studio and OB demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team on robust Production and Supply planning across multiple and often fluid production/business demand. Be responsible for demand and supply forecasts.
  • Responsibility for overall roster management of Studio facilities and Studio & OB crews, balancing business needs vs people’s work/life balance
  • Contribute to and drive overall Studios’ department direction and strategy through insightful data analysis across business requirements.
  • Review and evolve the current structure of, working practices and processes of her/his team, to make sure we continue to deliver against our objectives.
  • Ensure we have the appropriate mix of staff and freelance crew for our changing demand.
  • Forecast and assist in the setting of yearly operational and budgetary requirements for Sky Production Services, and ensure adherence to the budget provision
  • Work with senior stakeholders to ensure all communication and processes associated with clients’ requirements, planning & resourcing are clear and consistent.
  • Ensuring all Client requirements are delivered with the most effective use of SPS resources to meet Clients’ expectations.


Your skills:
  • A proven track record of working at a management level within a broadcaster or other large scale television/film production environment in a Studios or Bookings environment
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of all aspects of resource bookings & planning in a production environment
  • Solid experience of budgeting and demand planning
  • Excellent knowledge of Studio, OB or Production operations
  • Outstanding leadership skills
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
