Senior Post Production Support Engineer
The Senior Post Production Engineer will be part of a dynamic team supporting and maintaining post production systems
SO WHAT’S YOUR NEW ROLE ABOUT?

 

Reporting to the regional Post Engineering Manager, the Senior Post Production Engineer will work closely with other regional Post Engineering Managers and Central Engineering Services.


The department in which this role is located, carries out support and maintenance of the live ingest and Post Production editing platforms which is operating in a 24/7 broadcast environment


Covering most audio/video related parts of the chain from signal acquisition, remote and local ingest to edit and on-demand delivery.


As part of a fast growing company, they will have a hands on approach to support and delivery of major and minor works projects


The role is well suited to experienced post production engineers and team leads looking to advance their leadership skills and build technical experience across broadcast, newsroom and OTT workflows.


As part of daily operations, you will communicate directly with Perform production teams to discuss support issues, capture project requirements and produce design solutions. 


You must have the ability to work alongside project managers and act as technical leadoversee contractorscarry out user acceptance testing, provide training and create support documentation.


When required the role will require hands on system installation, configuration and testing.


Candidates should have a minimum of four years experience in delivering post production related projects, system design, installation and support. 


Preferably across MAM platforms and collaborative post production workflows. Some experience of managing a shift rota as a team lead or technical supervisor is preferred.


The successful candidate must be passionate about Broadcast/IT engineering, Editing and internet related media technologies.

  • Acting as team lead and deputy to Post Engineering Manager - 10
  • Senior engineer responsible for the support and maintenance of facility post production operations - 15
  • Be responsible for the management of the technical escalation process - 20
  • Mentoring and training the post-production engineering team - 10
  • Participate in the delivery of major projects alongside project teams and technical specialists - 10
  • Manage and deliver minor projects within the production facility - 20
  • Manage the shift rota and provide shift cover when required - 10
  • Create and update documentation - 5.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS (DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW?) Skill Level (out of 4)
  • MAM & NLE – Dalet MAM, Adobe CC (Premiere, AFX), Avid Media Composer & Interplay - 3
  • MAM Systems – LTO Tape libraries, Archive HSM (DIVA, Xendata), Object Matrix - 3
  • Live production system workflows & Playout – (EVS, Evertz Dreamcatcher, GV K2) - 2
  • Transcode & distribution – Aspera, Vantage, Amberfin, DPP, Content Agent - 2
  • Projects & Installation – Wiring, System upgrades, Edit suite installation, System specification - 3.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS (DO YOU HAVE THESE DESIRABLES?)
  • Knowledge of Windows Domain Security and Active Directory an advantage
  • Confident with Linux operating system (CentOS, RedHat)
  • Experience of IP contribution Mpeg Transport Stream Recorders
  • Familiar with Cisco Switches
  • Accurately communicate via internal ticketing system
  • Experience supporting Avid Pro-tools & colour grading systems.
