Business Development & Project Manager - Broadcast & Events

We have amazing London-based Business Development and Project Management opportunities for a leading Broadcast and Events Lighting Rental Company.



As part of the Business Development team, you will support the development and implementation of initiatives and tactics to exploit new business opportunities, partnerships, and alliances, to keep the Broadcast & Events division ahead of market trends and competitors.


Through proactive market research, you will identify and target rental opportunities from within the UK and overseas to increase market share and achieve financial targets.


Through the continued management of key accounts and projects, you will nurture and grow existing client relationships to maximise their potential.


Key Responsibilties


Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


Identify rental opportunities and target production companies, studios, Production Managers, Lighting Designers, and Gaffers to bid on and secure projects  including  but  not  limited to prospecting, presentation of our services and USP's, generate  proposals,  product demonstrations and visiting clients as required in the UK and oversees.


Prioritise and exploit social/business networking opportunities to increase market knowledge and identification of sales leads, representing the companies interests at all times.


Interpret client requirements including lighting, rigging and infrastructure plans and provide practical advice accordingly, and position the Company as the supplier of choice.


Respond to sales inquiries, and produce quotations and tender responses to ensure we maximise new opportunities through the appropriate commercial response.  


Pass on management of a resulting project to a PM when appropriate, or in tandem where the client expects continued personal involvement.


Attend production and site meetings and carry our site recce's as required to support system design and to produce an equipment specification to suite the business both commercially and practically.


Ensure each project is financially managed and controlled to ensure a profitable return is achieved.


Represent the company at industry and social events.


Support the MD (Designate) and Senior Business Development Manager in the preparation of forecasts, business and market analysis.


Assist in maximising the utilisation and revenue potential of our assets,and ensure that prospective business opportunities do not compromise the quality of our core services or profitability.


Keep abreast of industry developments, working practices and technology to maintain the company’s position as industry leader.


Ensure understanding and compliance to all documented/verbal, company or departmental procedures and processes.


Other Responsibilities:

All other duties that arise in connection with developing a successful rental business.
