THE ROLE


Summary: 

The successful candidate will be expected to be a proactive and ambitious sales generator identifying new prospects and future requirements for the customer base and will select appropriate sales strategies to develop new business. They will be responsible for ensuring client satisfaction for a portfolio of accounts.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Generate and qualify leads, develop solutions, prepare proposals and make attractive presentations to potential & existing customers
  • Actively manage and progress prospects in sales pipeline and ensure that marketing and business development activities are supporting the sales process
  • Sell infrastructure and associated services solutions to new and existing customers within the region in order to meet or exceed revenue targets
  • Negotiate and close contracts with prospects and accounts
  • Ensure renewals are well anticipated and successfully concluded ahead of expiry
  • Coordinate a multi-disciplinary team consisting of engineering, finance, legal, product and operations staff to build solutions and resolve customer issues
  • Ensure a high level of client satisfaction for a portfolio of accounts.

 

PERSON PROFILE


Skills required:

  • Knowledge and proven track record of selling technical solutions within the UK television industry
  • Experience of the satellite industry is a major plus. In depth experience of the UK television industry is essential
  • Strong interpersonal, selling and negotiation skills with the ability to effectively make commercial offers, negotiate price variations and drive the sales process
  • Sound product knowledge, excellent networking and a proven commercial track record within the market place.
  • Ideally knowledge of SES products and competitors offerings
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills as well as time management/priority setting ability
  • Excellent market awareness and knowledge of the competitive environment.

 

Qualification & Experience:

  • A University degree within Engineering, Marketing, Commerce or any other relevant area (preferred)
  • 7-10 years’ experience, ideally in Satellite, or Media/Broadcast Industry (essential)
  • A high level of personal integrity and adhere to a strict code of conduct and personal behavior. Good commercial judgment and the ability to operate within a sometimes high pressure environment or under short timeframes
  • While supported by specialist Sales Engineers, the incumbent must have the ability to understand sufficient technical knowledge to effectively market the Company’s products to the largely technical customer base
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Computer literate – MS Office, knowledge of SAP CRM or other CRM system.

 

Other Key Requirements:

  • Willingness travel up to 40% of the time.
