Senior Edit Assistant /Post Supervisor
Pulse Films are looking for a Senior Edit Assistant/Post Supervisor to join our Post Production department in our London office.

About the Role

We are now seeking a talented individual to perform the role of Senior Edit Assistant / Post Supervisor.

This is a hands on role combining technical expertise, and post-production workflow management.  Significant experience in a similar role is essential.

Key Areas of Responsibility


Admin & Budget

  • Software - Manage our rolling and permanent software licences
  • Hardware - Manage front of house machines, edit suites, laptops and assistant machines
  • Infrastructure  - Take a proactive approach to driving department development and structure improvements
  • Purchasing - Manage relationship development with suppliers.



  • Job Booking
  • Job Costing and quote creation
  • PO’s Collection in conjunction with admin support
  • Monthly Reports in conjunction with admin support.


Information Systems

  • Hard Drive Log Management - making sure that the file maker system is working and all iPhones can access the database
  • Website video contract management (Wire Drive) - manage the back end of the website
  • Maintain management contracts with suppliers for continued support on our hardware. These contracts need to be renegotiated and renewed annually
  • Data Management of allocated server space making sure that the servers don’t run out of space and that all content is adequately backed up/archived before removal
  • FOXoms management - Set up of users and resources
  • Digital pigeon (or similiar) manage user set-up, and manage monthly contracts and plans to avoid overage charges.



  • Implementation of new technologies -  as new tech becomes available make it available for testing and implement across department
  • Workflow design and implementation - End to end process development for back-up, transcode, off-line edit, conform, hand-over, and final online edit
  • Standard requirements - set up OS settings for asset versioning and delivery
  • Software requirements - Review project requirements and confirm that all software meets those requirements
  • Training - Training of edit assistants on departmental procedure
  • 3rd tier Edit Support -  Resolve problems that Editors and Edit Assistants cannot
  • LTO Archive maintenance - checking for errors on the SDNA server, re-stocking tape media and formatting
  • Share Point Management - set up of server share points along with corresponding user and group permissions.
  • OS upgrade paths and obsolescence - Testing of new OS versions with existing programmes and when ready rolling out upgrades
  • File maker Pro database design and deployment - Amending the database to allow new types of data input
  • Avid technical assistance and debugging - Trouble shoot error messages and resolve crashes
  • Hard Drive/ Data Recovery (software based) - Making sure that drives can be repaired using a variety of tools is imperative
  • Disk printer Management and print server share.
