System Administrator

Technicolor UK is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator, able to work in a diverse and highly agile environment, at the elite level of Studio Feature post production.

Candidates must be natural problem solvers who understand the critical of service up time and client service environments.

Key duties will include
  • Maintaining integrity of the network, server, storage and workstation deployment in a primarily Linux/Unix environment, whilst keeping a conscious eye on security.
  • Developing and supporting our VMs, system imaging and config management systems, support ticket tracking, change management and systems development. Input on the design and implementation of projects will be expected, as well as the ability to be an intrinsic part of their success.

With a broad range of post services and platforms, global reach and outlook, the candidate must be a self-motivated team player, prepared to share knowledge and develop the skills of others across all Technicolor businesses both in the UK and abroad.

Key Skills & Experience:
  • Proven track record of resolving basic issues associated with system configuration management, resource sharing and basic networking concepts
  • Experience in resolving security issues
  • Experience with VM environments, AWS, Google, Azure, Git, Docker, CI/CD.
  • Ability to monitor and identify network policy violations and system breaches
  • Must enjoy complex problem solving and delivering results
  • Strong scripting, Python, Bash, Perl.
  • Proficient with Linux, Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Storage support, management, configuration and optimization
  • Experience with StorNext and GPFS File Systems highly desirable
  • Configuration, change and deployment management using Salt (Ansible a bonus)
  • Experience across the VFX domain/render farms, would be beneficial
  • IP Switches, Routers and Firewalls (Juniper/Mellanox)
  • Server Installation, Configuration and Maintenance
  • Good documentation and communication skills. Agile knowledge beneficial
  • Network, resource and service monitoring
  • A broad experience base and hands on approach is preferred, with solid system administration fundamentals and an ability to be an independent thinker and problem solver
  • Forward looking, resourceful, natural curiosity about technology and what we do, the role is critical to meeting client deadlines and requires a flexible approach to hours and days worked
  • Must be a self-motivated team player, prepared to share.
