The Technical Director (or Senior Engineer, DI) will work in a diverse and highly agile environment. A natural problem solver who understands the criticality of service up-time and client service environments and able to work as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Display Device alignment and maintenance
  • Configuration and management of suites and operational rooms to the highest industry standards
  • Baselight Cloud Design and Support
  • Baselight General Support - including editorial, LUT management, backups
  • Management and development of suite ergonomics, operation and functionality
  • GPFS / Stornext File System Support, Configuration and Optimization
  • Colour Science and Pipeline knowledge – key POC for US colour science team
  • Flame Support experience of benefit
  • IP Switches, Routers and Networking concepts
  • Server installation configuration and maintenance
  • Documenting guidelines / processes around key areas of responsibility
  • Training other members of the team in key areas of responsibility.



The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role you will have the following attributes:

  • Able to work at the elite level of Studio Feature post production
  • Solid ‘hands on’ engineering background
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to manage our client’s expectations and needs (both internal and external) and effectively manage vendors and key internal relationships
  • Excellent project management skills – ability to design and deliver solutions to the highest standards
  • Operational outlook and comfortable with providing our Production team and Clients with well-founded advice on workflow and technology solutions
  • Knowledge or an interest in growing knowledge of Color Science
  • Must be a team player, prepared to share knowledge and develop the skills of others across all Technicolor businesses both in the UK and abroad
  • Forward looking, resourceful, natural curiosity about technology and what we do and enjoys solving problems 
  • The role is critical to meeting client deadlines and requires a flexible approach to hours and days worked.
