Passion Distribution is a leading TV Distribution company based in West London, currently recruiting for a Legal and Business Affairs Manager.  Passion is part of the Tinopolis Group, one of the UK’s largest independent television suppliers to major broadcasters around the world.

 

The Role:


Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

 

  • Drafting, negotiating and reviewing a range of multi-jurisdictional agreements in relation to the acquisition and exploitation of television programmes
  • Updating the companies template agreements from time to time as necessary to ensure they are in line with regulatory and business needs
  • Company and programme brand protection, which includes anything from registering trademarks to issuing cease and desists
  • Management and development of a legal assistant including overseeing contract execution and responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of data within the rights management system
  • Responsibility for managing all aspects of data protection compliance
  • Liaising with key departments including finance and materials to ensure all agreements reflect the policies of each department
  • Keeping abreast of all legal changes and updates and delivering training to all staff
  • Dealing with ad-hoc issues in relation to clearances and intellectual property rights
  • Upholding relationships with producers and broadcasters.

 

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate would be a newly qualified solicitor with up to 3 years PQE with an interest in television rights and an understanding of the television distribution environment. 


The successful candidate must have a keen eye for detail, a pro-active approach to work and an ability to work in a fast paced environment driven by targets. A firm understanding of commercial contracts is essential. Experience of working in an in-house legal team or a television company would be beneficial.
