Head of Business Development

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Business Development to join the senior management team of a leading London based post production facility.

About the Role
You'll be working alongside the Managing Director to lead the business and organisation, maintaining the company's excellent array of clients and winning new business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all client relationships, both new and existing. You will ensure client relationships are managed efficiently and appropriately and be the Client Relationship Manager for key clients.
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of the industry, whilst carefully monitoring many aspects of the marketplace that help the company run smoothly.
  • Represent the company at key industry events, speaking and networking to promote the business.
  • Be responsible for the overall revenue of the company and deliver growth in revenue across all services, hitting and exceeding annual sales targets.
  • Conduct market research and write detailed business plans on new business opportunities.
  • Advise senior management about new markets and opportunities to explore.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to reach out and expand the company’s client base.
  • In the absence of the MD, be responsible for writing and submitting high profile tenders and quotes, for approving high value quotes and setting discount authorisation processes.
  • Frequently meet with important clients, contacts and industry professionals.
  • Oversee development of services as well as improving the quality of service (alongside the Senior Management Team).
  • Develop ways to drive down costs, determine the optimal pricing to balance profit with customer/client satisfaction.
  • Supervise Creative and Client Services teams as well as direct marketing operations.
  • Propose and implement structural and systemic changes where necessary to improve the efficiency of the business.
  • Manage the company website and social media sites.


About You

You must have strong business development management experience within a Post Production house.


Key Requirements:                          

  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or similar.
  • 5 to 10+ years' working in a senior management position with high level business responsibilities, maintaining a strong relationship with clients, excelling in sales and participating in business development initiatives.
  • An extensive list of relevant production and broadcast industry contacts.
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial / budgeting processes.
  • Highly skilled at impressing clients and satisfying customers with a close eye for detail.
  • Exemplary project management, negotiation, market research, and marketing skills, as well as excellent analytic and problem solving skills with a numbers oriented mind.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to eloquently convey complex ideas.
  • Well versed in Client Relationship Manager software and proficient in modern software tools (especially MS Office / Excel).
  • Comfortable with technology, including researching and implementing the latest technology solutions to assist with the commercial operation.
  • Strong organisational skills with an entrepreneurial mind set and a proactive attitude that can make things happen!
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities and a passion for quality.
