We have fantastic Trainee Graphics Operator opportunities for individuals who are passionate about sport and wish to develop a career in Sports television.

Our Trainee Graphics Operators work on site with our major broadcast clients on productions such as 'Match of the Day', and also work at live events. This role will include travel to Premier League football matches, and international sporting events.

Training & Development:

The successful candidates will receive training to develop the necessary skills in order to operate our bespoke software and data systems. 

Training will be carried out at our offices in Hemel Hempstead and onsite with our clients under the supervision of our experienced team of operators.



This is an operational role, so although an eye for detail is welcome, a graphics background is not necessary. It's your passion and knowledge of sport that we are especially interested in.  We will be training you on all our equipment.

Key Responsibilties:

  • Operate Alston Elliot’s equipment, systems and bespoke software to provide live and recorded graphics to some of the world’s leading broadcasters
  • Travel around the UK and internationally as required
  • Work a varied schedule often consisting of long days and weekends
  • Setup and prepare OB vans and flyaway kits for upcoming jobs
  • Drive OB vans to and from venues
  • Rigging and de-rigging on site.


The Ideal Candidate

Key Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Full UK driving licence is a must to be considered for this position
  • Broad knowledge and wide understanding of multiple sports, in particular football, rugby and cricket
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Computer literate
  • Organised, punctual and have an exceptional level of concentration
  • Quick to learn, understand and deal with high pressure situations
  • Willing to work long, flexible hours and weekends.

Salary: The Trainee role starts at £20,000pa and progresses to £22,000pa after completion of training and six month probationary period.
