Sales & Business Development Manager
We are seeking a Sales & Business Development Manager to promote and expand our commercial activity.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Job Introduction:
The role of the Sales & Business Development Manager is to promote and expand the company’s commercial activity. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience establishing relationships that lead to Factual, FactEnt and Entertainment project work in both the television and commercial sectors. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will act as an external point of contact for new business – representing the commercial capabilities of the Film Store favorably to secure tenure on a longstanding series of jobs.  You will ensure the business has a strong name in our competitive industry as a leading facilities house
  • Ensure Film Store rivals competitors by offering excellent value and showcasing premier technology on quotes, to forge a niche in creative markets and develop a stronghold in new business territory above other suppliers
  • Work independently to develop business in UK and European markets
  • Working to allocated sales targets to achieve sustainable growth for the Film Store legacy - ensuring expansion, business development and effective collaborative relationships both internally and externally
  • In the context of both the London and Bristol offices, you will identify suitable partners and business leads, forging new clientele and delivering a solid contacts book as a business asset to the operations team
  • Showing relevant awareness of bigger markets and expanding opportunities
  • Promote effective, efficient and productive information sharing.  Ensuring a high level of service delivery that matches the technical requirements of complex client briefs to an unrivaled level of value and service to Film Store clients.

Business Development 
  • Produce new leads for hire, acting to acquire new customers and managing client relationships
  • Responsibility for forging ahead of competitors in reputation, delivery, value for money and cost of service
  • Entertaining and providing client hospitality: ownership of a proportionate budget to achieve increased revenue generated from sales income – new leads on jobs and promotion of the Film Store image in the industry at events
  • Capitalise on broadcast awareness, diversifying the business by seeking new opportunities in emerging markets and diverse content
  • Ensure technology is sustainable to aid viable future growth and a leading edge over competitors.

Managing Client Relationships
  • Be a visible presence in service delivery, proactively ensuring continuity and client satisfaction as the forward-facing representative of the business
  • Maximise commerce opportunities in the existing client base; ensuring that clients who are registered to Film Store are hiring as much as they could be.  Regularly reviewing customer activity, assisting with CAPEX regarding market insights and customer requirement
  • Translate incoming leads into bespoke service delivery: redressing issues technical trouble-shooting and to be a sounding board for contact and queries
  • Generating an internal business asset register – ensuring secure and responsible handover to senior booking and operations staff of timely and relevant account information and appropriate commercial awareness of individual clients and bookings. To work collaboratively to ensure effective workflows enabling business continuity
  • Updates periodically to ensure strong communications through information sharing; to handover accounts with instructions to the delivery of kit and the requirement of daily bookings staff and to share client information willingly and readily where contributes to cohesive customer operations.

Commercial Consultancy:
  • Regularly quote for hires and to be aware of procurement costs and industry developments to ensure that competitive service delivery for a range of productions is vast, relevant and timely
  • Long term: to be intrinsic to tendering for vast scope of long-term and complex jobs. To strategically inform upper management on the activities of competitors and industry to provide external reports on industry and competitor activity
  • Act as an external link between client budgets and production specifications to inform purchasing and quality control. Consult with the MD and Technical Operations Manager to offer package deals that are business viable
  • Demonstrate proficiency in financial reporting. Involvement in price setting commercial forecasting of activity.  To understand the targets and growth nature assigned. To act to make collaborative procurement and authorised expenditure decisions
  • Update periodically to ensure strong communications through information sharing; to handover accounts with instructions to the delivery of kit and the requirement of daily bookings staff and to share client information willingly and readily where contributes to cohesive customer operations.

ABOUT YOU
Key Skills, Experience and Attributes:
  • Proven network - Solid contacts book - networking – knowledge of industry contacts 
  • Proven experience of monetising programme budgets, production crew and facilities – making the link
  • Experience of a facilities house and kit room – operating, commercial management, sales.  Knowledge of the equipment. Connecting the dots between productions and facilities 
  • Future thinking, forward setting, strategic, aspirational and goal driven.

Details:
  • This is a full-time office based position
  • Monday-Friday (40 hours) per week - located in Earlsfield, London
  • Office hours with some on-call work and a need to be able to travel (expenses will be paid for any business travel).

Other requirements:
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required
  • Fluent written & verbal English.
