Assistant Post Production Editor
Working from our London office we are looking for an Assistant Post Production Editor to join TV & Media Operations on a permanent basis.
About Us
TV & Media Operations (TMO) is the BBC’s internal department responsible for the delivery, reversion and editorial compliance of over 12,000 programmes per annum repeated across BBC channels, and has commercial contract with BBC Global News to edit and reversion content.  TMO also produces originated content exploiting the richness of the BBC Archive.

About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
  • The Assistant Post Production Editor will correctly ingest, transcode and process media acquired in various frame sizes, resolutions, codecs, colour spaces and aspect ratios.  
  • You will be responsible for updating the scheduling system and liasing with the Production Coordinators.  
  • You will work closely with the Service Development & Delivery Managers to make sure that all aspects of the ingest room and edit suites run smoothly, adapting to specific requirements for other members of the post production team and external suppliers. 
  • You will also provide assets and deliverables to various partners.

About You
Are you the right candidate?
  • The successful candidate will be from a post production background, bringing with them knowledge of post production procedures and experience of programme delivery for transmission.
  • You will have a comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Premiere, and a working knowledge of Resolve, Photoshop and After Effects.  
  • You will have experience of various media transfer systems inc. Signiant, Aspera and FTP as well as being able to deal with various framerates, codecs, frame sizes and colour spaces, along with multiple audio track layouts. Excellent communication and organisational skills are a must as are QC and DPP file creation.
